Following a significant period of informal consultation, the Council’s Education, Children and Families Committee agreed on 9 October 2018 that a statutory consultation should proceed on the proposal to realign school catchment areas in the South West of the city. The proposals are being put forward to address the increasing pressure on the accommodation at Currie Primary School. The proposals do not require that any existing pupil move to a different school.
Two public meetings will be held in respect of the proposal as outlined below:
Balerno High School
Wednesday 14th November, 7-9pm
Currie High School
Monday 19th November, 7-9pm
During the consultation period, any views on this proposal should be sent in writing to the address below or by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. All views whether by letter, e-mail or using the online questionnaire should arrive by 5pm on Monday 3 December 2018.
Following the conclusion of the consultation period a report on the Outcomes of the Consultation will be presented to the Council in March 2019 and the report will be made publicly available three weeks before the Council meeting. Further details of this process are contained in the full statutory consultation paper.
