About Balerno

Balerno is a village about seven miles south west of Edinburgh's city centre. It is an area steeped in history, with close community ties, and was awarded Fairtrade Village status in 2013.

Often referred to as a 'Gateway to the Pentlands', Balerno sits at the foot of the Pentland Hills, allowing great access to Edinburgh's outdoor playground.
