Alastair Darling to meet Balerno Community Council

Alistair Darling has accepted an invitation to meet Balerno Community Council. The April meeting will now start at 7.15pm (rather than the usual time of 7.30) on Thursday April 6th at Balerno High School. Balerno safest place in Edinburgh

According to a report in the Evening News, Balerno had the lowest rate of burglaries in Edinburgh last year, with only two break-ins recorded in its 3000 properties. The paper comments:

Balerno man honoured for bravery

Lothian and Borders Police have awarded a Balerno resident a Lothian and Borders Police Meritorious Award and a Certificate of Commendation from the Society for the Protection of Life from Fire for pulling an injured driver from a burning car in January 2005. The full story is given on BBC News.
